Areas of Polygons

First of all, what is area? Well area is measured using squared units. The area of a region is the number of non-overlapping square units that cover the region.
These are just a couple of examples of some formulas and how to figure out the area for each figure shown.

Another question you may have is, what is a polygon? I found this fun video to share that will help!
How do you find the area of a rectangle?
Area= length x width

How do you find the area of a parallelogram?
Area= base x height
How do you find the area of a triangle?
Area=1/2 x base x height
How do you find the area of a trapezoid?
Area=1/2 x (base1 + base2) x height
How do you find the area of a circle?
Area=3.14 (pie) x radius squared
